Piper PA-44-180T history and development

Piper developed the PA-44-180T from the Seminole platform to provide improved high-altitude and high-density-altitude capability. The turbocharged model was certificated late in 1979 and entered the early-1980s product line as the Turbo Seminole.

Piper parts documentation identifies 1981 PA-44-180T serial numbers beginning with the 44-8107001 series and 1982 aircraft beginning with the 44-8207001 series.
