The DA62 was originally developed within Diamond's Austrian type-certification structure and later transferred to Diamond Aircraft Industries Inc. in Canada.

Current Diamond specifications list 50 U.S. gallons usable in the main tanks and 36.4 U.S. gallons usable in the auxiliary tanks.
With the auxiliary system installed, maximum usable capacity is 86.4 U.S. gallons.
Approved fuels include Jet A-1 and other approved jet-fuel grades identified by Diamond.
