Cessna 340A history and development
The Cessna 340A is the higher-powered development of the 340. FAA 3A25 lists Continental TSIO-520-N or TSIO-520-NB engines for earlier serial numbers and TSIO-520-NB for later aircraft, rated at 310 hp each. Maximum takeoff and landing weight is 5,990 lb; a 6,025 lb ramp weight applies from the serial-number point identified by the TCDS. The base tip-tank system provides 100 gallons usable, while optional tank installations can increase capacity.
Cessna 340A fuel capacity
Standard total fuel: 102 U.S. gallons. Standard usable fuel: 100 U.S. gallons. The base system uses 51-gallon tip tanks. FAA 3A25 separately lists 40- and 63-gallon auxiliary systems and wing-locker tanks.
Cessna 340A model applicability and configuration
FAA 3A25 contains serial-number-dependent engine, fuel and equipment applicability. The base tip-tank system and optional auxiliary or wing-locker tanks must not be combined into one universal fuel figure. Verify serial number, installed tanks, engines, propellers, equipment list and the current aircraft weight-and-balance report.
Cessna 340A weight and balance
Maximum ramp weight: 6,025 lb. Maximum takeoff weight: 5,990 lb. Maximum landing weight: 5,990 lb. Separate baggage compartments are listed in the TCDS and must be loaded within their individual limits. The represented takeoff and landing maximum is 5,990 lb. A 6,025 lb ramp limit applies to later serial numbers identified by FAA 3A25. Optional tanks and equipment change loading, so verify the exact aircraft configuration before calculating payload or center of gravity. Use the approved aircraft-specific documentation and current weight-and-balance record for operational calculations. WBcalc does not currently provide a model-specific Cessna 340A calculator.
